All These Ideas Are Controversial* is a curatorial proposal by UMA LULIK__ for ARCOmadrid, centered on four themes that stem from contemporary artistic narratives, based on the contingencies of the present.

• Embracing the natural and the artificial: extension, virtualization, extinction, fossilisation, in Paulo Arraiano’s works;

• In changing the perception of the symbolic value of Capital and money, in Fábio Colaço’s body of work;

• By the artist and the work : documentation of a long- lasting performance, in the photographs by Isabel Cordovil;

• On experiment: image as singularity, in Paulo Lisboa’s drawings.

Themes that determine an exhibition set dominated by criteria in which the guidelines between the works are those that maintain the balance of the whole set, inviting each visitor to build relationships between the various pieces and to establish autonomous “fields ofobservation”.
