    THE SHOW CAN’T GO ON

    Solo presentation by Fábio Colaço

Fábio Colaço’s (Lisbon, 1995) artistic practice is constituted through visual and conceptual associations of different materials and information of everyday life, which allow him to explore themes related to social, political and economic reality of contemporaneity. Humor, subversion and irony are features that run through his works, questioning social and symbolic structures, specially those linked to the creation of economic value and power.

The show can’t go on is a curatorial presentation of works that reflects on the changing of perception and value of money, as well as the unprecedented power it has in the human imagination, from antiquity to the present day. A selection of works like painting, photography, video, paper, light, and small sculptures, works mostly in white, blue, “black on white” and gold, are supported by a blue background, the colour of the EU flag “as a way to symbolize the ideals of unity, which are based on solidarity and harmony among peoples of Europe”.
